Ruth Shaw

Ruth Shaw is a public health and physical activity specialist with extensive project management experience gained over more than 30 years of working in the sport, education, and leisure and health sectors at a national, regional and local level.  She has successfully coordinated many cross-agency partnerships and has been involved in the development and delivery of many Public Health initiatives involving primary and acute healthcare, local authorities, leisure and community sectors. She currently works in the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities as a Project Manager for the Moving Healthcare Professionals Programme. In this role she leads on key workstreams including Activating NHS Systems – an approach to raise the importance of physical activity with system leaders at all levels of the system.

Ruth holds Education in Movement Studies as well as a Master’s degree in Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation.
